A day of tuning to senses, and discovering new ones. An opportunity to connect with self and with others, to rest if need be or to dive deep if the mood takes you, but most of all to recognise where you need to go and knowing that there are those around who will help you get there.
An inclusive workshop open to dance and movement based professionals and those in training.

This three day intensive brings together two renowned choreographers for an exploratory and inclusive intensive. Over the three days, Russell and Adam will each introduce ideas and tasks from their working methods and explore the synergy between their practices.
Russell will share tools from his extensive experience in bodywork, (particularly as a practitioner of the Rolfing method of Structural Integration) which can be utilised to enhance health and longevity in dance and physical practice. Adam, who also draws on Tai Chi, will work with qualities of listening and introduce temporal and spatial scores that he has developed through his extensive research into inclusive practices.
Suitable for those with at least 3 years of dance experience (aged 18+)
Open to disabled and non-disabled dancers.

INCLUSIVE DANCE WORKSHOP | 3Hours

This workshop introduces a variety of inclusive dance practices that offer opportunities to beginners and advanced students of dance and theatre.
The workshop begins with a focus on the senses and how we experience ourselves in the dance space, starting from a place of connection and trust and building gradually toward greater challenges that can be accessed by everyone in their own way, and at the own time.

A one-day lab invites participants from a range of different backgrounds to remember the future of physical diversity in dance in Berlin. Dance practitioners Adam Benjamin, Michael Turinsky, Jess Curtis and Jo Parkes will facilitate conversations and practice-oriented exchange formats that dream up a not too distant future of physical diversity in dance education, training, choreographic practice and curating, and look for ways to work back until today. The lab takes place in the context of Tanzfabrik Berlin’s 40th anniversary, the Open Spaces#2 / Sommer Tanz programmes, as well as in cooperation with the initiative tanzfähig and the Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin (HZT)
